Where Does Your Turf Come From?

Our synthetic grass starts life right here in the USA. Southwest Greens, part of Shaw Industries, a Berkshire Hathaway company, and each turf strand is crafted in Shaw’s U.S. factories. Advanced equipment and Lean/Six Sigma systems drive precision and durability to achieve industry-leading performance standards. When you book to install artificial turf with Southwest Greens, you can rest assured that you’re getting long-lasting, American-made grass.

American Manufacturing: We produce turf in Shaw’s American plants such as Dalton, Georgia. Shaw’s technology investments ensure fiber uniformity and premium quality.

Vertical Quality Control: As part of Shaw, our process covers every manufacturing phase. That lets us ensure uniform fiber construction and appearance across production runs, quick turnaround for service requests, and transparent production data for troubleshooting.

Rigorously Tested: Before any turf arrives, it’s verified by Shaw’s laboratory and field evaluations. We use a 13,000 sq. ft. sports science lab and over 18,000 sq. ft. of outdoor test plots to replicate long-term wear. Each fiber undergoes tests for UV stability, resilience, and ball/athlete behavior, so your lawn or putting green looks and performs like real grass without wilting or fading.

CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION

We keep evolving our turf to be better-performing and long-lasting. Some of our latest developments include:

Bolt™ Fiber (High-Performance: Bolt fiber technology uses a unique, patented lightning bolt-like structure. It resists flattening and recovers quickly, surpassing conventional wear tests by 2x. Its special cross-section diffuses light to minimize glare, giving the grass a realistic, non-glossy look.

HydroChill® Cooling: We offer HydroChill® infill beads that can cool your turf by 30–50°F. This innovative moisture-activated process is ideal for hot climates and full-sun areas, keeping the surface cool for people and pets alike.

Pet-Friendly Drainage: Our pet turf products are built to drain water and pet waste efficiently. No more muddy paw prints indoors. And the way our artificial grass naturally sheds pet waste keeps the lawn fresh and stain-free.

Creaturf™ Personalization: Want your turf to show off your identity? Our Creaturf™ program lets you add graphics, emblems, or colored elements. From branded backyard putting greens to eye-catching pet turf, this system provides total visual customization.

TAILORED TO YOU

We gather feedback from users, golf pros, and designers to ensure our artificial turf serve real-world use cases. Feedback from golfers led us to introduce a new “spring green” tee turf color that matches natural grass perfectly. Little details like this make us trusted by Austin professionals, residents, and designers.

We also offer specialized systems for every application — backyard putting greens, golf courses, pet areas, playgrounds, commercial lawns, game courts.

We take fake grass installation seriously. Installation requires skill and artistry. Our synthetic turf is built to mimic PGA-standard roll and bounce. That’s why legendary golfers like Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sörenstam trust Southwest Greens. And because our connection to Shaw gives us unmatched flexibility, we can tweak anything — from pile height to infill — to fit your project.

LOOKING AHEAD: 2026 AND BEYOND

At Southwest Greens, we never stop innovating. Watch for major turf releases in 2026! Shaw Sports Turf division confirmed that the public can select new field designs and that a new “Game ON” turf model (made in Calhoun, GA) will roll out in 2026.

This playful spirit and technology will make their way to landscaping products soon. We can’t reveal everything just yet, but you can be confident, our R&D team is hard at work on the next generation of artificial grass.

New releases will be inspired by customer feedback and cutting-edge research, so your next Southwest Greens lawn or putting green will be better than ever.
